I have owned many different tube amps along the way
including those
from
Cary, VTL, Welborne Labs, and Conrad Johnson among
others. What
attracted me
to 3-Dimension audio was the opportunity to own
no-compromise custom
amplifiers designed to extract the absolute best
performance from MY
system.
After discussing my application with Alex, I decided
on a combination
of
300B SETs for the midrange and upper frequencies and
300B push-pull
triodes
for the bass – for me, the best of both worlds. I
really appreciated
being
able to speak directly with the designer-builder and
REALLY liked
bypassing
the usual outrageous mark-ups and mumbo-jumbo that
used to drive me
crazy -
when Alex builds you an amp you can see and hear that
you are getting
exactly what you paid for!

I have owned the 300B "simple" for
about a year, with
Sophia Mesh Plate
300B's, NOS Mullard GZ34 rectifier tubes, silver wire
throughout, Black
Gate Capacitors, transformers especially selected for
my 16ohm Ocellia
Tilia loudspeakers, and separate power supply.
It is impossible to imagine owning anything else, even
though I can
afford it. I asked for the musicality of tubes with
the bandwidth of
transistors, and I got it!
I am grateful for the amp, and for the time spent
listening to music
without having to even consider thinking about being
critical. After 30
years as an audiophile, it is a great relief to just
enjoy music!
Thank you,

Did I enjoy the sound when I first time turn on Alex’s amplifier on? Yes! Was I surprised that my audio system finally sounds like it supposed to? No! Even if I would not have a chance to audition Alex’s masterpieces before I ask him to make amp for me, I would be sure in the final result. We started with analyzing of all components of my original system and then decided on what amplifier design shall work best. Do they ask you about your audio components when you shop around? Not often. Should they? Even basic knowledge in circuit operation tells you that you have to consider all part of a circuit as a whole. During the time my amp was built I asked all possible questions and we discussed all issues I was worried about. I new that I am going to get what I want and not just another “black box” with glowing tube on the top and with price tag on the bottom.
